My friend took a Lovely Gios 1970s frame and had it re sprayed the right colour, then put decals on it. The bars and breaks are all Italian Campagnolo, apparently everything is authentic bar the gears and pedals which are good replacements. I was told to look at the BB for a signature and it says GIOS - it's vague due to the re spray but there. It has lost the coins for the top forks but I have ordered these and they will come soon I hope. It rides beautifully. I haven't ridden a bike for 30 years and was wanting any comments on my new bike.

Thanks

Adam

That is a nice looking machine, but please take the pump off the frame. Ruins the look for me.

Perhaps some more sympathetic pedals as well?

White balance for incandescent light. Or take pictures outdoors. Incandescent (tungsten) lighting imparts an orange hue, as fluorescent lighting creates a green hue.

A thing of lovelyness that frame:thumbsup:Does the blue look anything like this Gios blue circa 1999?

I recall seeing one in Cycling Weekly about 1994 and being deeply moved by the single solid colour and white lettering. What a colour!:smooch:

Looking at it again Adam, that brake cable housing is going to start slowly wearing off that new paint job on the way to the rear brake.I would definitely do something about that.

But what you should really do is have the rear triangle set to 130mm and put a modern Campag Athena group on it...Fwwoooore!!:heat:

Is the frame slightly too big for you  the saddle seems to be jammed right in which means in turn the bike doesn't look in proportion. Nice frame though.

The pedals could do with something more period correct and the rear brake cable also seems a bit short. Otherwise all good.
