It's that time of year.

How do you measure the effectiveness of cycling gloves.

How warm they keep your hands?

How much snot do they absorb?

Gloves are better if they do not absorb snot, once its dry you can flake it off. Saves washing them.

Wore my Night Visions today and it was far too hot for them.

Also found that I can only blow snot rockets to my left today or forwards when standing which is my usual directions, for some unknown reason I did one to the right and promptly covered my cheek and filled my ear.

Following on from that, absorbent gloves may be better because when I wiped it off with my night visions I just smeared it all over my face.

I wear some £3.99 waterproof and insulated builders gloves on my commute, no absorbent properties at all when it comes to snot so I continue with the builder theme and snort it back then spit it out making as much noise as possible.

The most important thing about gloves is not those mentioned in the OP but the COLOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Magic gloves are available in some excellent neon/fluorescent colours from many newsagents, not sure about yours though Keith .

They're very cheap and warm when wet too. It's not warm enough to wear them on their own yet but they do make good liners.

p.s. I don't work for them.
