Castelli sizing is a little on the small size, so always go one bigger. At 6ft 3 I'm usually an XL in bib longs but bought a pair of XXL Castelli ones and they fit perfectly.

I am the same height and wear a L in all Castelli clothing (I have quite a lot of Castelli clothing) other than the speed suits , which I take XL, only to prevent excess tightness across the chest. The Castelli size guides are pretty much spot on, take the measurements and order accordingly.

I bought these Biemme ones which I find pretty good with a decent pad for the money. The windstopper bits give you that extra warmth in the right areas on those extra cold days without making you overheat.

Having suffered from a very cold appendage today I am now in the market for means to prevent this happening again.

Today I was wearing dhb pace roubaix tights and some roubaix knee warmers. Apart from the affected area the rest of me was quite toasty.

Thinking of some unpadded bib tights as that way I can wear them with shorts or 3/4's. definitely needed something today...

The Planet X ones look like they might do the job, but having a few pairs of dhb bibs already I wonder if I pay the extra few quid and play it safe...

Maybe I'll just stuff a sock down there for the next ride and see how I get on.

With the Roubaix unpadded longs I find if you wear bib shorts under them you slide around on the saddle a lot so I wear the shorts over the tights. With padded tights with some windproof panels if it is really cold I wear a pair of seamless trunks under them to keep the appendage warm, which seems to work fine.

Hi, thought I should update this - and apologise for not thanking for the advice!

In the end I requested a set of Planet X Super Roubaix bib longs, Large.

They are very comfortable and warm, and a good fit.

They are also falling apart after two rides, despite not having put them through the washing machine yet - seams are coming undone about the place with thread hanging out. Heard plenty thread popping when taking them on and off, despite being gentle.

Hopefully I just have a dodgy pair. I'm sure PX will replace them.

Anyone else had similar issues with these?
