I'm looking for a high quality front light to use through winter for totally off road riding in pitch black in the woods.

Needs to give very clear and bright light, be waterproof and have a battery life of at least one hour at peak power.

I think helmet mounted would be best in the proposed terrain, but open to suggestion.

Thanks

I've been using a UK sourced Chinese made1800 lumens CREE job since my Hope light packed up last year. Massively bright, waterproof, stupendous battery life, only £16. Pleasantly surprised doesn't begin to sum it up.

If you're using only one light then bar mounting is most effective. The human brain is designed accommodate a base line between light source and eyes when calculating distance.

£16!? Seriously? That's amazing! I was expecting to spend hundreds.

Any links would be massively appreciated.

I have bar mounted on my hybrid, but was worried I'd miss stuff on the undulations of off road riding.

Thanks

I got one a month ago a dual cree one with a long and wide beam for I think 18 pounds. The battery indicator isn't the best at telling you when the battery is going flat so I told the seller and they sent me a second battery pack. Absolutely wonderful service

One comment re lights with those sorts of mounts when off road riding, they aren't totally solid and can slip around the bars a bit. You may need to change the mount or add some additional rubber around the bar to firm it up. In terms of brightness they are excellent vfm.

Thanks Hacienda. I have some inner tube rubber I can use to minimise any movement
