Good old-style wheels - any suggestions?

I was thinking about treating myself to a new (old) set of wheels for my new (old) fixie, having lifted a wheel chained up with a top notch bike parked up by mine and found it to weigh about as much as a sparrow's fart.

I couldn't have one like that - cost aside - because I need an old-style wheel: the kind that takes a freewheel rather than a cassette. But did they used to make really light wheels?

Any suggestions for good candidates on ebay? I'm not interested in names or kudos. What's the best I could get for, say, £50 - £100 the pair?

If you're buying new wheels for a fixed, why not get one with a proper fixed rear hub? It can be as light and blingy as your wallet will bear.
