Got a huge fly behind my cycling glasses on the way in today....

Panter

Just call me Chris...
I've no idea how, I was going quite fast at the time and it was the size of a Budgie. It just seemed to pass straight through the lense in a style that would have left any watching spectre envious before carrying out some kind of bizzare "let's see how many times I can stamp all over his corneas" type game.

I countered with a vigorous head shaking action, accompanied by much swearing and pawing at the lenses whereupon the fly, luckily, got bored and buggered off.

Anyway, just thought I'd share

Been getting my extra Protein quite regularly on the way to work now. A short part of my commute is past a dairy and sheep farm for about a mile and a half and it's the only stretch i end up having to make sure my big gob is closed because of the flies all over the place.

On a related note, a few weeks ago I was coming home from work and a Wasp flew into the bit between the chin strap and the bottom of the helmet just above my ear and got lodged in there. Stung me a couple of times before I could stop and shake it out.

Was bloody sore!!!.

Another reason not to wear shades or other cycling-specific glasses when cycling! (Actually I wear prescription glasses - bifocals - and need them. Flies sometimes light on my face but they can't get trapped behind the glasses. I never wear 'cycling' specs.)

You should have swallowed a spider (that wriggled and jiggled inside you) followed by a bird (how absurd) and a cat (fancy that!) and .... help! can anyone go on....

As long as I breathe, I attack.

Got a swan stuck in the back of my throat the other day.

My fault, I wasn't watching properly as I was trying to shift a horse that was jammed between the forks and the rim.
