First ride out today after 6 weeks off the bike (broken collar bone). To be honest I had the chance to get out in the week but I talked myself out of it (bit too windy, better get that "insert mundane task here" done, you know the kind of stuff).
Even after I started out, for the first couple of miles I wasn't particularly enjoying it.
Then as my ride got a bit longer I remembered what it was all about and smiled for the rest of the ride.
Even the guy who pulled in on me and then stopped his car and got out when I waved at him didn't spoil my mood
Only did 30 miles (shoulder is still a bit sore) but really back into it now and working out a different route for tomorrow.
I guess I just needed to get off my behind and make the effort.
That's it really, nothing exciting, just wanted to tell someone who'd understand that I'm back!

Excellent! How did you bust it in the first place?

Nice story! I'm stuck in a hotel in Lagos in pouring rain with no hope of riding a bike until Saturday 19th. Pray for good weather for me on that day.

Just back from a 50 miler and apart from a bit of an ache in the shoulder all went well.
My legs were just starting to feel it towards the end so I wouldn't have wanted to go on much further but hopefully that'll get better again as I keep at it.
Thanks for all your encouragement guys and girls

Well done, just keep putting in the mileage and it'll all start coming back.
