Call me a bastard but...

...I had a lovely commute in this morning while all around me were stuck in miles of traffic jams around Bristol and North Somerset.

Oh, the M5 is closed is it? It only took me an extra 3 minutes to get into work, and that was just because of all the extra filtering I had to do.

I must stop chuckling as I pass all these cars...

I word of caution. I find that motorist impatience rises is these conditions and the unexpected/not indicated change in direction goes up. Also there is less give and take as everyone tries to get a car length up.

It is fun though!

Ah yes. I chased a woman who pulled out in front of me this morning. I can only assume that she’s much more important than me because it would appear she’s too busy to pull over and have a phone conversation, in fact, she’s so important she can have phone conversions while pulling out of side roads in front of cyclists. Must remember to doff my cap the next time I see her.

Obviously she stared straight ahead ignoring me once I’d caught up with her a few hundred meters up the road, but I felt vindicated in my annoyance thanks to the chap in the car in front of her who said “Yes, I saw her pull out right in front of you, she’s been on that phone for a couple of miles”. See, not all 4x4 drivers are bad!

I decided on a route avoiding main roads but even when I hit things like Gloucester Road and Whiteladies Road (if you ignore the lorry who thought he was a bus:biggrin:) I found it wasn't too bad at all. (Admittedly this was just after 9am).

I was expecting it to be a lot worse after all the news reports about M5 being closed - perhaps it was worse either earlier/on the Portway or in the south part of the city/N. Somerset.

I woke up an hour late today, so my journey was very different. Seams like the later you leave the less traffic there is, but the more dumbass cyclists there are. So many overtaking me, only to realise they can't keep up the pase!

If you went from Gloucester Rd to Whiteladies, you almost certainly cycled past my old house (Waverley Rd)... Errm, not that that's especially interesting!
