Not discussing helmet cams but he will be featuring the tit who cycled through a red light (RLJer) and then films the copper who has caught up with him with his helmet cam as he refuses to give him his name or details to the copper. A great advert for cycling and cyclists. Prepare for a vitriol filled anti-cycling 30 minutes.

 I like him in a odd way though no doubt he'll be giving just as many negatives on the subject as usual.

Can't complain about the reaction it will get... I'd agree with the people who will [and do] think he's an idiot.

Have I missed it ?

If you put R2 on now you will catch the show at it's senstationalist ignorant shocking worst. I give it 90 seconds before road tax and insurance for cyclists is mentioned and 120 for compulsory wearing of helmets. They will then suggest cycling licenses for cyclists which will mean a test similar to the driving test which given the number of pavement cyclists and cyclists without light I encounter I am all in favour of.

Can't stand Jeremy Vine so I won't be listening. I stopped listening a long time ago after becoming frustrated by his one sided discussions, patronizing tone, and his inability to control guests talking over each other. No doubt todays discussion on the incident referred to on this thread will be equally one sided, but which way? From the trailer I just heard on the Ken Bruce show, it doesn't look good for cyclists (in this particular case, quite rightly as the guy was a complete knob IMHO).The original incident has been discussed extensively on the Commuting forum: http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/how-to-deal-with-the-police.91203/

I'm just imagining a reverse round the corner on a bike and parallel parking followed by properly securing the bike to a stand with an appropriate lock.^_^

Summary :

Copper got it spectacularly wrong, failed to give a caution or know the law, therefore not up to the job. He may or may not have assaulted the cyclist by grabbing for the helmet cam after cyclist refused to cease filming causing the copper to become annoyed and frustrated.

Cyclist was a rude idiot who may or may not have jumped a red light.

The large number of cyclists who jump red lights who should receive FPNs.

Pretty tame today really. I guess the show is getting better at filtering out the nutters.
