Great Communal Cycle Paths.

I know there are some good cycle paths out there. I cycle to Croydon every day. The cycle lanes on the way into work are to say the least frustrating. Coming up to lights with left hand turn they double up as short cuts for cars to get out of the que or handy parking bays.

My favourite next to the building I work there is a road that has been blocked off to traffic. Its a dead end. Two cycle lanes either side with bollards blocking the road off.

There is a cafe next to the end of the road. In the gap in the middle they put chairs and tables.

This really is the most communal cycle path. As its a great place to stand with your cup and coffee and socialise and chat. Blocking all exits of course. Or better if you feel inclined Park your car and block both lanes while you go get your cup of tea, coffee, breakfast. Just wondered if anyone knows a more communal one than that.

The NCN 6 from Manchester via Bury, Ramsbottom, Haslingden, Blackburn is brilliant especially now the muddy bits have been tarmac-ed.
