great glen way help needed

I took the military road. It's a very nasty climb up through Glen Doe from Loch Ness to the top at the Suidhe viewpoint, but a stunning view at the top (very different to the Great Glen), and then a very nice fast straight decent down to Loch Mhor.

if you want an idea of the route then my photos are here. The bit from Fort William to Inverness is picture 48-78.

I'd really recommend riding up from Oban (or even better Connel Ferry station). and riding up to Fort William using the Corran Ferry and the Camasnagaul ferry. I think that was my favourite part of the whole tour, and definitely gave some of the best views: -

cuno just looking at your bike there in the pics, we were going to take mountain bikes with 2.1 tyres
but looking at your bike could the route be down by switching the tyres for 1.5 marathon plus tyres.Like the idea of battering along at a faster pace, just wondered

That would probably work. I had 700x35c on my bike and it handled the bits I used ok. I don't remember it being quite as rough as the bit in Cunobelin's picture though

we did it 2005 on our lejogs did not find it a problem both bike had 700x32 and would have poss been ok with 28s...its a better option than the A82 ^_^ a few pics.......

ok guys have not viewed this post for a few days,so was wondering do you recon it could be done on a sirrus for the wife marathon plus tyres 32c on the rear and 37c on the front,and a tricross with 32c cross tyres,I like the idea of travelling slightly faster than mountain bikes
