Great ride today,

Bumped into our very own GB155 and his mate so had a good chat all the way to within half a mile from my work. Gaz's mate was funny "I don't mind, but I only live 5 miles from work" as they were both on an 18 mile detour !

I'd literally just left Gaz, and I was in traffic behind a bus. Next thing I know there is a blue passatt under my right elbow trying to get past me up the busses exhaust pipe - I was less than a car distance from the bus doing no more than 15 mph in heavy traffic. I just glare at him and hold my line. Next set of lights, guy swings the car in and pulls up under my left elbow, leans out and says..... (wait for it)...... "there is a cycle lane there".

I must say I didn't take it well. Told him to "F off you fat ba..... I don't need to use a cycle lane" The guy then carries on trying to force me out of his way (bus still in front), for that he got a smacked wing mirror and a load more abuse.

Idiots.

Great ride until then and I must say it was a good way to spend a Friday morning. We didn't go mad on the Brinksway strava section either:laugh: , and upset a moped rider as he got surrounded by three quick moving cyclists, who then filtered up the outside of the traffic leaving him way behind.

Nice morning for it. I'd keep quiet about GB155 catching you up if I were you, people might start to think he is superhuman!

Such language young man!

should have kept quiet and just knocked the F*** out of him.

That's the first time you've called me 'young'

He got some serious abuse, enough for all the pedestrians and following cars to hear. I'll no doubt get a colleague mention that they had seen this chap on a bike road raging with a motorist this morning (like last time).

"OK you've proved your eyes work, have you ever used them to read the highway code?"

I'd love to be able to come out with witty comments, but as he had been trying to muscle me off the road, I swore at him  Most motorists don't understand much more than 'f... off' - I do add 'fat b....' to it though !

What's the technique for kicking a car when riding fixed - I decided it was a bit tricky at 90 rpm.

I was late this morning (no sleep again with my shoulder - physioterrorists fault) and Gaz was on a scenic detour (he had already done Mottram Moor climb)!

My normal time is about 8.00am (ish). Think it was more like 8:40 this morning.

I know what you mean. Brains not in 'conversation mode' Having a decent work out for the previous 'X' miles means breaths probably in short supply too?
Don't know the technique for fixed. I do know that sometimes being clipped in has, in retrospect, been fortunate? even banging on the side of a close passer is sidelined as I'd rather keep both hands on the bars.
Never know though in future one of the witticisms may be remembered at precisely the opportune time. Just got to have enough breath to deliver it right.....

Ah, too late for me, I'm around there at 7.15-7,20am

Forget it Potsy, these are the big boys and you wouldn't be able to play. They would just leave you puffing and blowing in their wake!

Yeah but I'm going down the hill, I'd easily beat their time
