Greenwich Park users.

This will only be of use to people who cycle through Greenwich Park!!

They were handing out fliers this morning about the park closures. They are closing it earlier than expected due to being a bit behind with their plans. Restricted access starts on Monday.

Cycle access is as follows:
11th June - 6th July: 6am - 8.30am and then 5.30pm - dusk (so basically rush hour only)
7th July - 7th September - Closed to all cyclists
8th August - 31st September - 6am - 8.30am and then 5.30pm - dusk
1st October - Reopens full time.

I believe part of the delay is because, what with the rain on top of drought, they discovered the park didn't have the right kind of soil to keep the stands secure. No idea where they get Olympic soil from, though.

At the end of a day's work, with a shut park, I'd recommend Hyde Vale as the easiest route up the hill. It's a slight detour but pleasant enough.

I know Hyde Vale but I usually go via Maze Hill, and when I'm feeling realy silly I go via Vanburgh Hill, but thats only for days when I dont have the pannier on.

I think Maze Hill, at least during the events, is one of those VIP routes so it'll be off limits. Vanbrugh Hill is just plain silly!
