grips slipping

On my ridgeback hybrid the grips that came on it have started slipping round in the hot weather. Does anyone know of any tricks or tips to keep them in place or is it new grips time

I used to use Brake & Clutch cleaner like THIS, (cos I always had it).

Hairspray probably works the same way?

It works like a lube to allow grips to be slid on and positioned, but them evaporates to nothing leaving a secure fit.

I'd take yours off and give them and the bars a good clean, then re-fit with whichever of the above you've got.

[EDIT] the brake cleaner is absolutely superb at cleaning chains, mechs and anything oily

A combination of the 2 i.e. remove grips and wash in the sink with detergent allow to dry then use hairspray to refit them.

I've got an old tin of spray-glue. Never thought of hairspray though. I'll be trying that one myself.

I am the only slap head in town with a can of hairspray. Expressly for this. Also I LOVE the smell
