A little game i like to play throughout the night is guess the weight of the lorry that has just woken me up .
The council say there is nothing they can do about the traffic even though there is a 5 ton restriction on the road between 630pm and 8 am .
This is from 630 am , i thought you may like to join in .

Is that the same Royal Mail truck or several different ones ? That might be a good place to direct a complaint.
There's loads of those and to be honest they are not really the problem . There was a sorting office built up the road a few years ago and i've never been disturbed by that . It's the bigger ones that wake everyone up . They hit a bump in the road and the sides make a rumbling noise that echos the length of the street .
Somethings changed somewhere about a year ago and we are getting all these other companies using the road .
Personally i am woken up five or six times during the night .

Stick a time & date in the picture and send them to the highways department at the council.

Although to be fair it took a road closure, HGV couldn't physically manage the bend, before the local one replaced the signs.

Move to a smaller street? That's a main road

I'm quite happy with the city , the main road and the huge airport . I'm also happy with the restriction put in place so these things don't disrupt peoples sleep .
The drivers will know they are not supposed to be using the road but are still doing it . I'd rather they where fined for breaking the law rather than me just selling my house .
A 5 ton restriction !
the royal mail box and the PRS curtain both look like puddle-jumpers so if they are empty they could be round 4 ton, fully loaded 7.5t.
Both the DAF & MAN Artics are potentially 44t but the ones in the pictures would appear to have the tag axle raised, this would suggest they are empty so they are probably going to be around the 15 ton mark so should definitely not be on that road.
Thanks for the reply , i was hoping for your input . Also i didn't expect the royal mail ones to be breaking any regulations as its their sorting office that was given planning permission .

Is it a except for access weight limit ? Could it be all the lorries are delivering to the sorting office not just the Royal Mail ones ?
