handlebars

whilst out this morning i saw a woman on a bike that had straight handlebars but with extra bits sticking forward on both sides, it looked like a hybrid bike but closer to a road bike than my hybrid, she past me when i had stopped for a drink she didnt look my way and didnt stop so no chance to get a good look, any ideas what bike it could have been ?

It could either have been flat bars with bar ends added, like these

Or they could have been bullhorn bars

could be one of a number of things- the Sirrus range and Giants Rapid range can all look very road bike esq- with 25mm tyres, road gearing, caliper brakes etc. did you not notice a make at all?

I put butterfly bars on my mountain bike.Best thing i ever did,more hand holds.
