A nice quiet day at home with Mrs VC today, out to a country pub for lunch, a walk in the local deer park, then off to Leicester's best restaurant for a slap up meal tonight.

Actually Maiyango, but Grimsby was a close second, I've had many takeaways from there but never eaten in.


Thanks all again for the good wishes, just waiting for the taxi to take me off to my 5 course bash, starting with cocktails. Expect me to be extremely 'happy' in a couple of hours, and 'tired and emotional' by midnight.

Grimsby is fab - the portions are huge (i sem to remember the fish overhanging the plate somewhat), and I love the slightly kitsch Greek decor. And the statue has to be seen to be believed!

The only problem is getting home when you're too stuffed to walk, or even sit in a car... ;)
