To the Dads out there who are doing your best: Happy Father's Day.

I have had a fabulous week.Finished off today with a three course meal in a local pub.But sadly out of the blue,during a break in the conversation i thought of my children from my first marriage who had a really crap useless dad.Failure of that never leaves.

A nice recognition on father's day from the girls mum and dad to me, for looking after their girls. That was genuinely nice..

For those that dont know, their mum fell foul of the SS for having an abusive partner who exposed the girls to danger...and dad has always had issues and lives in a rented single room so wasnt able to take them on two fronts...but loves them to death.
They all agreed the girls be legally cared for by us/ now me, to keep them from being adopted. Id have moved heaven and earth to prevent it anyway.

Evening had a fantastic day organised by my middle daughter by my ex. Met up with 2 daughters by ex, 2 son's by my current partner and 4 grandchildren ranging from 5 to 25. Bike ride to local trail centre with them, all mixed abilities. Eldest granddaughter at 25 ive never seen ride a bike till today. Various distances done as different start points ranging from 18 miles to 26 miles. Well happy that we rode altogether. Pity the EX put so many blockades over the yrs till the girls realised who was telling the truth all along.

We had a nice lunch out in a pub; me, my son, my Dad, my sister and my mum. Was nice to be just the 5 of us. It was more a celebration of us all being together, and a close family, which was nicer than just Fathers Day really. But I did get a new dressing gown off my son, so...

Sunrise walk with daughter, and our dogs, around a local reservoir then back home for a coffee & chat.
Lovely card + swimming goggles (as requested) & a battery air-pump for camping, too 👌

Daughter and son who i am close to. Sad that my lovely wife was not here to see it.
I really feel for those who's marriages turned sour, I had a good one, lovely woman and nice children..... am I one of the fortunate ones ??
