Halloween is an almost pointless commercial exploitative concept, the sole purpose of which is to extract money from gullible parents who are put under pressure by the synical advertising and product placemats of huge corporate business' like Tesco, Asda.

I refuse to have anything to do with it, and don't get me started of feckin Guy Fawkes night either! GAH!

I will tell this to my 2 year old and his mate... I am sure they will be most upset when I tell him it's been cancelled due to it being a pointless commercial exploitative concept and that as a parent I have been put under pressure by Tesco's.

Lighten up ffs... lifes too short.

My daughter is having a Halloween party with 2 of her friends then sleeping over, they are going trick or treating before watching "Shrek's Thrilling Tales". She's making scary biscuits and black sugar mice right now. Our window will be lit up and lots of kids will call. Ok, it all looks a bit commercialised to me, compared to my youth, all the kids with the same supermarket tat trinkets, but times change and come on, it is not a lot of effort to make children happy.

Last night, I had to got to a pub, on some sundry matter that is of no relevance to this topic, other than to say that it was a 6pm appointment and when I arrived it was packed, there were about 60 kids from babes to teens, all dressed up in Halloween, there were witches, vampires, ghouls, devils, devilettes, mummies, spiders, skeletons. Parent and children were having a fantastic time. The pub hosted a Halloween night, decorated the rooms with cobwebs, bats, siders and all the sthick, put on themed food.

A really well run event by the looks of it and you couldn't move in the place, and everyone was having a good time.

I couldn't wait to get out of the place, before the bonhomie contaminated me.
