When I lived in the states I preferred Thanksgiving to Christmas, great holiday and I like that it is it's own thing.

Because it's mainly a family thing it kind of passed me by when I lived out there. I did have family connections but not strong ones, and - with the US being so blooming enormous - not at all convenient to visit.

Isn't where they give a couple of Turkeys a bath, blow dry & take them to a large white building, where an elderly orange coloured man let's them off for something

I dont know about that.
Remember last year over here when people were saying, "well, they cant be any worse", and thats exactly what it turned out to be? And so it could be in '28.
Its likely folk will have less to be thankful for year on year...
