I have a ridgeback supernova with carbon forks.
Today i noticed a tiny bit of play when rocking the bike with the front brake applied.
On the old bikes it was a case of nipping up the stem nut but i dont see snything on here thar i can tighten. Is there something under the cap ? Or is it a lbs job?
Advice please

You have an A-Head system on the bike.

It's either the bearings are worn or play has developed through use (usually the latter). It is very simple to adjust.

You have to do three steps.

1) Loosen the bolts attaching the stem to the steerer.

2) Insert a hex key into the top cap (which is above the stem) and tighten 1/4 turn.

3) re-tighten the stem bolts and check for play.

Hi,
Two fingers on the allen key tight is recommended.
After retightning the stem I loosen the bolt a little.

To check that you have not overtightened the bearing, lift the front and lean the bike, using the top tube. The front wheel should swing easily to the side.
