I know nothing about cameras but getting a little tempted to ask for one of THESE for my birthday.

There's no extra funds to add to it, also looked at this one in MAPLINS, but it dosen't seem as robust?

Mad kayaking friend is urging me to get a Gopro, his videos are really good, but I really cant afford one £100 tops.

Hedcamz quality looks quite good for the price?

It's ok, not as good quality as those by Contour or GoPro.

I use an Optrix case which I got from www.xeniahd.com turns your iPhone 4/5 or itouch into a head cam. The iphone 4 is 1080p so it's good enough quality and they also have an app you can buy which puts your speed onto the video. costs 80£

The iPhones lens is too narrow to be of any use and lets face it, you'll look like a right knob with an iPhone on your helmet.

Lol yea true it looks weird on your head... but it has a wide angle lens of 175 which is the same as a gopro I think?
