Good morning everyone.
I'm enjoying my recently bought Cannondale Street Sport Nexus. It takes me to the local swimming pool 6 miles away 2 or 3 days a week and to the local pubs occasionally on a mixture of A, B roads and riverside path. It's no lightweight but then neither am I. Although I will clean, oil and replace bits to be safe, I don't enjoy cycle maintenance and the enclosed chain, hub brakes and gears are as near maintenance-free as I could find and I've never (touch wood) have a puncture on 2 sets of Schwalbe M+ tyres.
I did a cycle instructors course last year but couldn't find any work so my provisional instructor's ticket has lapsed.
Helmet and lycra are not on my agenda; I try and wear normal clothes. I use toe clips rather than cleats and lights rather than reflectives. Most of my interaction with traffic is being overtaken, so I have a mirror on the bars. I realise none of this is cool but it works for me and has done for nearly 50 years of cycling.
