Hi!

Already seen so many great posts, so thought I should start by saying 'HELLO'

I'm starting to commute to work (well ride the 10 miles from the train station to office) and also doing the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, July 2014

I am going to buy a Boardman CX Comp Bike 2014 through the works cycle to work scheme. Any tips on mudguards, wireless computers, pannier racks and bags would be very much appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to CC.
Any questions you have will almost definitely be answered for you by some of the very experienced cyclists on here.
Can't really comment on the pannier racks etc, but in terms of wireless computers, it really depends if you want to go GPS or not ?
Most on here will recommend a garmin. I had one but soon sold it as I prefer using strava on my phone. I have recently purchased a cateye strada wireless computer which does all I need !
Apparently the Boardman wireless computers are excellent, In fact it came first in a magazine review not so long back. Good luck and enjoy your cycling

Hi and :welcome: Dave.

Mudguards - my preference is full length ones and I've found Tortec to be good for the price.
Wireless computers - I can't advise really. I've only tried one and didn't like as it suffered from interference.
Racks - Tortec do a good line in these as well. Worth a look.
Bags - The ones I have are just cheap ones. They do for me, but I wouldn't recommend them for commuting.

:welcome: to CC Dave.

I agree with RP above regarding Tortec guards and racks, although TBH my experience of them is limited as I always preferred my rucksack, but my commute was very short anyway.

If you just want a cheap wireless computer the COUNT computers from Decathlon are very good IME. Or check the classifieds on HERE, there's usually someone selling something, THIS for example is a cracking little computer IME.

Hi And Welcome to the forum.
You find nothing wrong with the Boardman. I've got a MX Comp and love it, just a great bike. I also got it the the ride to work scheme.
