Hello from IL

Hi there,

I used to ride normal bikes as a kid and teenager, but fell out of the hobby overtime. I am looking to get back into the biking scene be it a normal bike or an ebike. I am a bit of a short person at 5"3 and my weight is on the bigger side. I am just here to research and find out more about ebikes mainly. I plan to use it to go from point a to point b in my town in IL.

If the main purpose is to get fitter, a normal bike with a good gearing range will probably be more effective than an ebike.

Old style analogue/manual bike all the way!

Ebikes are a faff, need to be charged and more to go wrong etc.

Use a manual bike for maximum results and reward. You'll be surprised at how quickly it becomes normal and gets easier to travel around once you start using a bike for day to day routine trips. It might take a few months to work out the basics like what clothing is suitable and where/how to lock your bike etc but once it becomes a part of your life you will wonder what the heck you were doing before bike transport entered your life.
