Hello, thanks for the warm welcome. Our boat is usually moored on the Tinsley Canal just outside Sheffield. However at the moment we are returning from a cruise to Skipton and are moored overnight near Southfield Reservoir midway between Goole and Knottingley.

Thanks for the welcome, its been quite a while, 10 years or so it may be longer, since I was last in Glasgow. I seem to remember it had been the city of culture at the time. I used to pass through in my younger days when going north of the border to visit relatives.

I ride from Silsden down to Ferrybridge quite often the route you have just covered coming from Skipton.

We went as far up the Leeds Liverpool Canal as the far side of Foulridge tunnel before we retraced our steps. From Skipton we usually overnight at the top of the Bingley 5 rise. Then at or near Apperley Bridge, followed by Leeds armouries and then at Pollington Lock. We are moored at the top of the new junction as I write. We have just had a short diversion down to Goole to meet up with friends. Staying here for a couple of days before heading towards Doncaster.

Sounds like perfect lifestyle, welcome to the site and we may meet on the tow path at some point. My local canal is the Leeds & Liverpool which joins the Bridgewater at Worsley near Manchester....tow paths are being improved all the time over here for cycling,walking ect

Great location for some great cycling. Regularly use that canal on my frequent off-road rides to Sheffield. Road almost entirely on the canal network up to the lakes last year starting at Bugworth Basin near Chinley. A fantastic three days.
