Hello from Weston Super Mare

Just a quick note to say hi from sunny Weston Super Mare

I took a big step today getting back into biking for the first time in probably 10 years, mostly to get fit but also to enjoy using a bike and to get plenty of fresh air.

I'm using my bike for my daily 10 mile commute along mostly cycle paths and am currently riding a 98 ish Dawes Vision hybrid which I borrowed from my dad!! It's the ideal type of bike for my commute but when I have to give it back i'll be looking at a Specialized Sirrus or maybe even a racer. The cycle tracks are ok but i'm not convinced they are smooth enough for a racer.

Just got to sell my 2 commuter motorcycles now.

Hi to you, I do a similar commute across Weston (a mixture of road and cycle path). You are quite correct that a hybrid is the perfect bike for the job, fast enough on the roads and you can still bump it up and down kerbs and go "off piste" if required. I use a Trek 7??? (can't remember the model), i wouldn't bother with a road bike either on cycle paths ....... i've never taken mine near one !!!!
