Hi, I am looking at getting a new bike after a few years without, I am however having trouble choosing which Type of bike to get. I narrowed it down to either a:
Dirt Jump Bike -
- Or
Hardtail MTB -

Any recommendations would be really appreciated with a budget of around £450.

Also what helmet would be best a full face helmet or MTB?

Thanks

not a clue on this one but i would guess it is down to what you want to ride, as in mainly trail with few jumps or riding jump parks?

any how it would be better to move this to the 'what bike?' section
maybe a staff member could do this

Nobody can tell you what type of bike to buy. Best bet is to go to the local cycle stores and ride as many as you can of each and hopefully one will hit you as the one to buy.

Lockout on the GT, hydraulic brakes rather than mechanical, proper Shimano groupset (rather than basic Sunrace) - much better spec, I'd choose that one. Only benefit, is the Specialized will have a lifetime frame warranty

Could the GT be used also as a Downhill MTB? From what i have seen currently dont have the budget to get a proper one

so far as i can see only sun race components are cassette on both, can't argue on brakes or lock out though
