That's me got some me time now finally as the last of the visitors are just away and others not arriving until tonight for a few days, where it will all start over again.
Got to love this time of the year though. My last few days have consisted of :-
Eating loads
Drinking loads
Playing games
Singing competitions easily won by the wee sisters boyfriend whose the lead singer in a band (I'm crap, tone deaf but like everything else in life I give it a bash)
Drunken games of chess late at night with the brother in law with some fine malt whisky just for us two. Too good to share with the "I don't mind whisky, but not my first choice" lot)
Having to put my old man to bed on Boxing night after he got carried away with a bottle of Drambuie
Watching football with the boys while the girls gossiped and made the food. (wee sisters a chef and takes over. She can't help herself. Food's great though)
Washing towels (14 people go through quite a lot over 4 days)
Doing dishes
Making tea as someone put the kettle on at least once an hour, My mother who doesn't drink anymore the main culprit
Playing with the Nieces and nephews. (the best bit to be honest)
Opening some very very nice bottles of wine
Sledging with the kids
Getting made to go to Church on Christmas morning (Brought up a Catholic but don't go. Mrs Greedo is a prod so that went down well with us both) kept the peace though and what the hell it's Christmas
Pool playing competitions that I DID win
Spending 3 hours making a lego fire engine with my Nephew
Sleeping a bit
Opening presents
All in all, it was very pleasant indeed. Hope you all had a great time.
