I'm looking to buy a helmet cam but I don't want to pay the earth for a super all dancing thing. i just want a basic camera that takes decent video. Has anyone got any recommendations please.
Cheers

Muvi clone for around £10 will do you, can get the slightly better clone (metal case, proper buttons and aspect ratio) for £30 ish.

Take a look at youtubers and the camera they use (some will say in their main channel description otherwise you'd need to ask).

Proper veho Muvis are less than £50 on Amazon...sports pack a few quid now too. I wouldn't bother with the clones...especially as they don't fit the Veho attachments.

Bitrate - which is variable so it's not an exact size. If you filmed a white sheet for example you'd get more on the card whereas detail in trees/leaves increases file size.

Generally a 2gb card will get you about 2hours of video - battery though 1hr30ish at most.

How do people go about fixing it to a cycle helmet?

Thanks for all the great information, I'll have a look around now I've got an idea what to look for. Thanks a lot, i appreciate your help.

That looks odd. Why not mount it in the middle of your cycle helmet?

The positioning from centre is matter of centimetres, which won't show up on the video - so in that respect the position doesn't matter.

It looks more odd using the "normal" mounting bracket...

Guess it's not as bad as having this stuck up from your head...

Why they design them with this format is beyond me. I prefer the bullet camera form factor for helmet mounting, more low key rather than some beacon of looking stupid on your helmet. Had the "MiniDVR 2" for a while for that reason, but returned it as it was utter crap.
