Helmet question

Anybody know of a good website to buy a helmet for a larger than normal head (embarrassing I know). I have tried many shops locally but am finding it hard to find a helmet that actually fits me.

Not really looking anything fancy or expensive, just want something decent that fits me.

I really wouldn't buy shoes or a helmet online.

If you choose to wear either, fit is important.

There really must be a shop with a good range of sizes.

Hi,
Have a look at a " Canyon Sierra " on Amazon.co.uk.
Unlike shoes, helmets do offer a degree of adjustment so there is less risk of a poor fit.
Amazon are very good with returns if you are not happy.
Good luck and happy shopping.

Thanks for the advice - it's a bit embarrassing having a large head, when I was skiing year before last there no helmets in any of the ski hire shops that would fit me. I was the only one in our party still skiing in a woolly hat.

Also got a big bonce.
Had a nightmare getting a decent crash hat when i was motor racing.
my LBS measured my head and ordered in an oversized Bell
Sticker inside of helmet reads(if any help)

There will be helmets somewhere that fit you - it might mean paying a bit extra (I have that with shoes) but you will be able to get one.

a big head is a sign of high intelligence.:becool:

I've had a full faced motorcycle helmet up for sale at work for ages and it just wouldn't sell because it was too large at 60 - 62 cm.

+1 for buying helmets online - Last year I sent a cycling helmet back to Wiggle as it was too tight, even though it was within the size band I considered ok for my 'git northern heed', and fell foul of their returns policy.

I didn't argue with them, but as much as I enjoyed their Haribos during the 2011 TdF, everything else I've ordered online since has come from one of their competitors.

The BHSI is an American site, so some of the helmets may not be available in the UK.

However they have a page on large helmets

The important thing though is to try before you buy. Helmets are a personal item and different brands are different shapes and fittings.
