I've also got a big head, and used to get headaches from my last helmet.

I now have a Specialized Max - listed on that page linked to above, and it fits very well.

What size is your head that you consider large? I measured my own as 61cm, and I struggled to find a suitable helmet. I ended up with a Met Estro, which was the only decent helmet I could find in shops where I live that suited me, that does right up to 61cm in its large size.

By the way, I never ever felt any issue with the size of my head (I only really realised it must be larger than most when I struggled to find a helmet). But then, maybe you're talking of figures quite larger than 61cm... (The link given by Cunobelin mentions helmets going up to 66cm...)

I think my head would be around 61 cm as well, however fitting is also about shape as well as size. My head is fairly rounded at the sides, which means the helmet needs to be wide. The specialized Max seems to fit well. Many large helmets that top out at about 61 or 62 just aren't comfortable. I've just checked the box for the Max and it says 56 - 64 cms, so quite a big range.

I am in the same boat having a big head, my Bell goes up to 64cm and my last helmet (Raleigh) was the same, also good to have a bit extra room for buffs, skullcaps and woolly hats

We had a teacher at school who looked like Frankenstein's monster (or at least we all thought so). We always called him Herman (as in Herman Munster). One time, we had a day trip abseiling. He lobbed his helmet into the bus and I picked it up - aged 13 - and it was too small for me. I never called him Herman again.
