Sorry,nothing for anyone to rant about.Who on here used to wear these nifty little items of head protection?
Also if anyone is interested the bike is a 12 speed Carlton Kermesse and i have just been shed out of the back of the bunch .

I remember wanting one when I went in to a shop to get a helmet. The sales guy explained why they weren't any good & I ended up with a big white Bell helmet.

I believe those leather 'helmets' were originally developed for army despatch riders in WW2. When I was a kid on my Raleigh Medale I thought they were super-duper megacool.
