Help a friend's dad doing LeJOG?

I've just had the following appear on Facebook from a good friend:

"Only my dad.... He's started Land's End to John O'Groats on a fixie but it's been a bit of a disaster (wrong kind of hills)! Can anyone help me find a 54cm road bike he can use, hire or buy for the rest of the trip? Please share!"​
