Here is my dilemma , I would like another bike (who wouldn't) but it has to have certain characteristics
these being;
Not new
Aluminium frame carbon forks
16 speed with a low gear suitable for lugging my carcass up hills.
cheap enough for me not to worry about riding in crap weather
reliable, nothing fancy derailleurs
All or any suggestions will be gratefully received !
Thanks in advance .

@biggs682 might be the man, though he deals more in steel.

These are pretty handy and tick a lot of your boxes, depending on budget.

Why not look at some of the early Carbon machines ie Specialzed and Giant neither of which i can remember the model names

or something a lot newer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marin-Ges...758547?hash=item3f86fe64d3:g:I1kAAOSwoRBZut85
that is an interesting idea even though this one is too big for me. Regarding tour Specialised suggestion, what do you think of thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Specialized-Allez-Double-2010-Road-Racing-Bike-Small-FULLY-REBUILT/162632713360?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Look for a Triban 520 on the auction sites.

Or this looks good

There are loads of Allez's to choose from not knowing your location well enough whatever you go for budget on changing the rear cassette to one with a 28 or 32 big cog .

The Triban would be good and are Decathlon a french firm so must be a depot local ish
