Not here offten enough to argue
the voodoo lokks pretty good value - but i'm sure you can get a new carrera subway at halfords for nearly the same price

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_810731_langId_-1_categoryId_165534

or this one

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_992068_langId_-1_categoryId_165534

at least then you will get a warranty and somewhere to return it if things go wrong.

Before anybody else says anything, yes its from halfords, same as the voodoo, but not all halfords mechanics are total numpties

Please, please follow advice of Jawwy & ianrauk.
As a returning cyclist with less knowledge than both but a little (not a lot) sense, a new subway with warranty & legal rights seems the best way to go.
If it is affordable.
& your fella gets to sit on bikes for sizing before parting with cash.
Best of luck. :welcome:
