Hold everyone,

I am just about to go and help my mate choose a bike for this bloody triathlon thing we're doing - she is unlikely to use it after (she's a runner). She quite likes the Carrera virtuoso and I have heard various good things about them on here.

Any other suggestions of cheap and cheerful (other than a triban - I don't want to go all the way to lakeside) in case she doesn't get on with it?

+1 re 2nd route even more so if unlikely it will get any use after the event .

if you were nearer i would offer to loan your mate a bike for the duration up to and for the event

That's so kind - but I was surprised to find she is now really excited about bike buying!

She's now deciding between the carrera zelos and the carrera TDF as they are both on the site for £299.99.

She might go and have a look at the triban too, as she lives quite close to a decathlon store.

Thanks all xxx

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Of the three I'd choose a Triban, as would others. The Zelos looks interesting, but is 14-speed vs the TDF's 16-speed. The Triban's got a carbon fork though and is 16-speed.

Edited, now I've read it properly!
