Help regarding changing Crank set

I've just f**cked my right hand crank arm. First ride and I'd not tightend my pedal and the threads now very smooth!! School boy error *hangs head in shame

My question is the bikes fitted with Shimano R565 chain set its a 50-34. Can I change it for Shimano 105 5750 Hollow Tech II?

I have paperwork telling me about Hollow Tech II safety checks on my bike.

I'm assuming I can use any Hollow Tech II Shimano and I take it that it's the BB that's Hollow Tech?

I can't see why it's not interchangeable but the way my lucks going today......

Hollowtech II, or HTII refers to both the chainset and the BB.

A quick GOOGLE of 'Shimano R565' suggests it is indeed HTII, so yes you can fit any HTII chainset, except the newer 11 speed.

Thanks, just ordered a new crank set. Can't believe how easy it is to change.

Don't forget to set the preload cap when fitting them.

Cheers mate, I've been trawling YouTube and bought a tool from EBay. Seems like an easy job......

Bugger, too late. You should try seeing if your LBS can save it with a helicoil insert.

I'll look into that. If its repairable at least I've got a spare. Cheers mate
