Watching the mens 10k swimming yesterday (10k! Swimming!) I saw all the coaches cycling along the bank of the lake in the background, and then overtaking them all was a chap riding one handed with what looked like a humungus video camera on one shoulder (like the very earliest home video cameras in size, possibly a serious bit of TV kit). Something made me think of you - new bit of kit?:rolleyes:

I wish! I'd love to have been over there! I am impressed that he could cycle whilst holding the camera, and looking where he was going!

Actually I do have a new piece of kit from the nice people at dogcamsport and I even got the forum a discount - see the blue bar at the top of cyclechat.

It's a nice camera and the video is much better (still being recorded on my Archos). I'll be writing a wee review over the next week or so and I will be placing on here and on my blog.

I'm very disappointed though. Over the last 3 or three weeks, I have had absolutely no incidents that were worth putting on youtube (actually I can't really think of any incidents at all!). Mmm. Wait a minute, I probably shouldn't be disappointed about that, should I.....:biggrin:

No.Just had a lean spell but the fun has just began.

Long may the lean spell continue! It's been great. I haven't changed the way I cycle, I've just had a lot more positive experiences with drivers recently. So this provides some rock solid anecdotal evidence that it is not my style of cycling that cause my incidents....:rolleyes:

I am constantly surprised at the number of cyclists pootling along watching the rowers - there are LOTS of them on what looks like a narrow trail, not one of them is looking where they're going, they're inches apart and yet there's not a single accident or pile-up.

Clever people, these Chinese. ;)

You guys need to ride by the Cam. There are always trainers, sometimes yelling, sometimes even with megaphones or cameras, pootling along next to boats full of rowers or scullers. Not usually paying any attentio to where they're going. One day I'm going to push one in.

You seem like a nice guy Cab.

I'm very nice, as long as you're not cycling on the wrong side of the road with a megaphone. Then I'm a git

I've always assumed they are the coaches etc... I suppose it they are all going the same way, at a fairly constant speed, the risk of collision is lessened... And yes, I've been trying to see what sort of bikes they are...
