Hello all from a West Sussex newbie! I live near Chichester, sold my car a couple of years ago, and now get around everywhere on my bike. The best decision I ever made. It's saved me a fortune, got me fitter, and reduced my stress levels. I even enjoy winter cycling, but then I always have been a bit weird.....
The bikes a Halfords Carrera, with Shimano Nexus 8 speed hub gears. I've fitted Schwalbe Marathon plus tyres, because I can't faff about with punctures when I'm commuting. They've been on 2 years now and I've not had a single one!
It's not the fastest bike in the world, and I'm often overtaken by the local Lycras but it does the job I need it to.
Looking forward to reading and contributing on the rare occasion when I might be able to add something useful!
