Hi everyone, newbie here ... and looking for opinions on tapering down

Hi everyone, I’m Kyle and I’m from Bewdley in Worcestershire … sounds a bit like Blind Date that intro. Never joined a forum before but found yours this morning, everyone seems very friendly, thought I'd give it a try. For the past 20 years I’ve been an on/off mountain biker but recently discovered the road, and apart from the wind, rain, cars, vans & lorries I love it  . So, for 3 weeks in June & July I’m cycling this years Tour de France route raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust. My training in March, April & May was quite intensive and I’m now looking at winding things down before my ride kicks off on the 23rd. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on tapering down. When to start, what level of activity is too little, maybe switching from road to MTB, or spinning at the gym? All thoughts are welcome. Thanks, Kyle.
