Hi all
I am new to the forum but not new to cycling I am a Freewheel XC/Dirt trail enthusiast and hail from Benfleet in Sunny Essex ( about 8 miles from Southend on Sea ) the seaside resort with the Longest Pier in the world But i think the Pier is its only claim to fame

Hello Chris - I like Southend. There is a CTC night ride there sometime this year - 9th April - and again in October (2nd). Feel free to meet up and buy everyone breakfast at the Rose Restaurant!

Hi Chris, I grew up in Benfleet (well, Thundersley!) so know where you're on about. ChrisKH here on CycleChat also lives in your neck of the woods.

Keep an eye out for the group rides, there was one in Billericay at the beginning of Feb and there'll be one on 2nd May up here near Colchester.

Welcome Chris, I live in Shoeburyness and you forgot the other claim to fame of Southend: the mighty Shrimpers!!

I try and get out at the weekend for a loop around Barling/Wakering/Shoebury...when weather and kids permit.
