Hi all,
The name is Matt and I just thought I drop a message after lurking around the forums for a couple of weeks ;)

Just got into road cycling (was an avid mountain biker back in my youth but now I've hit 40 falling off was taking longer to heal  ) Though I am enjoying it it's been a bit of a struggle ( financially and physically) getting to grips with this road cycling malarky!

Bought myself a road bike in October 2012 spent the first weeks thinking "How can anyone ride these things? more like a torture device than a mode of transport" . Needless to say I was in desperate need of a bike fitting...so I did what any sane person would and use the videos from youtube as a starting point

After a change of stem, bars and saddle, things are good though I'm a little less flexible then I thought I was but I'm finding it easier to go further now (Gave up smoking 3 weeks ago too which is helping)

Anyway enough of my waffle!

See you all on the forums

Matt.

Thanks all for the warm welcome ;)
I'm going to enter that Craig! Thanks for the heads up, I'll see if I can get a few others as well.
I'm based in Hull so not to far to go! Just will ahve to decide how far to cycle..My heart says go for the 100miler but my legs tell me more like 100km ;) I'm not used to doing long climbs as I'm currently trying to up my fitness levels and not just die in the first couple of weeks of a massive heart failure

Hey Lee, "Ulrome" is like Hulls version of St Tropez

Thanks again all and may see some of you around, I'm riding a Forme Reflex and sweating like a pig!

I'd / I'm doing the 100k,
I've done the 100mile, it's just not that enjoyable (the famous middle 1/3)
as an intro the 100k is perfect
