Hello....another newbee here.

My names Bev, from Essex. Im in my mid 40s and took advantage of the cycle2work scheme last Sunday, and havent been off my bike since!!!.

I have just got back in the saddle after over 30 years, so Im not at all confident, but Im enjoying it so far.

I was very proud of myself because I did an 8 mile cycle ride on Sunday. This I know is a very small distance, but to me it was huge.

Hopefully my addiction will grow!!!

Well done on the 8 miler - you've gone further than you had before. The mileage isn't what matters.

And yes, horribly addictive. Cake is a good antidote, I find, lest you get *too* fit and healthy

Hi people and thank you for your kind words. Another first for me today as I rode home from work in the torrential rain, scary but fun I thought!
Can someone explain to me why I'm covered in bruises on my lower legs?? Didn't have these prior to getting my bike and haven't wacked them. Bruises dont actually hurt but are growing daily!!
Could this mean I'm allergic to cycling??? Lol

Hi Bev from another Essex boy,can't help you with the bruises i'm afraid but i know that someone else had that problem on here,i would do a link but am p.c ignorant so you'll have to do a search
