Hi all,

I've recently returned to cycling after a 13-year break (owing to an accident I had as a nipper), for commuting and generally getting about town. Being a student and a part-time retail worker, I didn't want to lose most of my wages to the money sink that is driving. So I got myself a Claud Butler hybrid, and I'm relearning everything!

I'm a bit lacking in confidence on the bike at the mo, but I'm sure that'll come with time. I thought joining an online community would be a good move to ease me back into things, and I've already had my first bit of harassment from a car driver, so I suppose I'm officially back in the club! lol

Pleasant riding,
BexB

:welcome: And well done for steering clear of cars, wish I had that frame of mind when I was younger,

or though if you haven't already got one having a licence is handy,

as you can always hire/borrow one of the things if needs be,

All the best and ride safe

I must get some new glasses. I was sure I read in BexB's first sentence that "owing to an accident I had a nipper"

Welcome to the group, enjoy your time with us and enjoy your bike.

Hi BexB and :welcome:.

Confidence will come. I hope you enjoy your cycling.

For what it's worth, I don't think driving is as much fun as it used to be - too much like a chore. If you can manage okay without a car, you're not missing much.

Welcome BexB, good on you on choosing the bike as your method of transport.
Confidence will come, abusive drivers will stay, don't let little road tiffs put you off cycling

Hi and welcome. A fair few of us from herts on here, I got back into cycling thanks to work moving a few miles away and bus or car being a money pit. Little did I know how much I would end us spending on cycling gear particular when my wife got the bug too!
