HI all,

Just saying hello as have just started to use the forum.

I'm in Manchester and planning to geto the bike and use it a lot more - be a nice change from the running as I'm a bit on the bored side of that!

Just have to get to grips with getting the bike sorted out! Somehow managed to mess up two inner tubes snappig the bit off the end - first time when pumping it up (was used to mTB tyres and not the presta valve!) and then the second time after I had battled to replce the inner tube, put the tyre back on - blew it up and the end came off he valve again!!!! Lot of cursing going on in my garage!!! Determined to get it sorted though! Guess it is one of those things that once learnt hopefully will not mess up again!!!

Make sure youe screw down the lockring before you start to pump (missus) - that way you'll avoid damage to the valve.

Welcome btw - wherabouts in Manc are you?

Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome to the site seems like it's going to be a friendly place to be!!!

I'm out of touch with the bike at the minute - bought it about twelve months and went mad over the summer getting the miles in but then got lazy and not been on it much at the minute! But as soon as I get this front tyre sorted etermined to start getting the miles going again as when I was doing a lot of riding I really enjoyed it - a lo ore than the running I have been doing lately! Managed to reach target with the running though and did the Manchester 10km on Sunday so now up for a new challenge on the bike. Quite fancy doing the Manchester - Blackpool ride - not going to try and set any massive records and not worried about a time at all just getting round and having a nice ride. Anyone reckon this is a realistic target?

I'm in Crumpsall in Manchester nd as yet not really found any decent local rides but sure there must be - any suggestions gratefully received! My general route before was to take the roads into manchester centre, out to Chorlton, down the cycle path back to Ashton Old Road, up into Droylsden and then back through Clayton and Alan Turing Way. With a bi of meandering about it was about a twenty five mile round trip which generally took about two and a half hours. Not a blistering time I know but it was a good relaxing time away from work!

Hopefully speak to some people again soon!
