As a middle aged, slightly overweight (well may be that's being kind) cyclist, I enjoy challenges, but not races. A really good challenge is the 24 Isle of Man Route. Basically park up at Heysham Port catch the 02.15am (yes in the morning) ferry to Douglas. http://www.steam-packet.com/ remember to book online and at least 2 days in advance to get the Day return price. Parking is £8 and taking a cycle is free.
You arrive, after a few hours sleep at 06.00. Then basically cycle the coast of the Island, about 90 miles. Its all on one OS Map. Then catch the 19.45 ferry back. Its a challenging day but a great way to see this beautiful island. And it is NOT flat. Lots of eateries and drinkeries en route. Well worth it and the roads are very quiet as well as in good condition. ^_^

Hi Stuhyde.

If you dont mind me saying, as your second post, this reads a little bit like spam. I'm sure its not but perhaps keep it in mind. This may, perhaps be the reason for the lack of replies so far.

Either way, Welcome to Cyclechat.

:welcome: Stuhyde.

Thought it looked like a spam post too. Reading in conjunction with your other post I'm guessing it's not.

Looks like an interesting challenge. I've never visited the Isle of Man.... one of these days though.;)

Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it, and I certainly dont mind. . Firstly I am not a spammer. My humble apologies if it sounded like one. I have really enjoyed the challenges of the 24 Isle of Man and here are some pics to go with it

No worries, nothing for you to improve on, its just that spambots typically arrive and drop one post before moving onto the next fora.

Good to see you're a real live person.

Nice shots by the way. I'm 2 months away from riding from lands end to John O'Groats myself, hope my weather is as good as your trip!

Yes the 2.15 am ferry is early but there is plenty of time to do the circuit and see the sites and views. As a not so fast cyclist I was able to do it well within time. There are also options if you have a disaster midway. Good place for a beer at the end. The British Hotel, http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restau...ws-The_British_Hotel-Douglas_Isle_of_Man.html also a good lunch is to be had at the Mitre in Kirk Michael, over half way round. Very friendly and helpful for puncture repairs. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/11/11477/Mitre_Hotel/Kirk_Micheal
