hi my name is Andy, I'm from wrexham, North Wales, i have just recently just bought myself a giant off roader origanally just to get fit and lose a few pounds! now ive sort of caught the bug and i'm really loving it and really getting into it, there are alot of hills round my area so is good for me getting use to doing inclines.
i main anbition is to get fit enogth to maybe buy myself a half decent racer and do the etap cymru charity ride next year. it will take abit of doing but its something to aim for.

Welcome to the forum - I'm not too far from you in North Liverpool. I may get brave one day (when I'm a bit fitter!!) and head down to your neck of the woods - there's some lovely roads around there.

Hi Andy and from down the road in Shrewsbury.

With just under a year to train for the next one I don't see why you couldn't be ready for the Etape Cymru. Keep at those hills and if you can keep the riding going through the winter it'll give you a head start come the spring.

There's lots of helpful people on here who'll be pleased to advise when you're ready to choose a road bike.
