Hi from Sussex

Hello all.
Found this forum on Google and as I've decided to take the plunge and get a bike, thought it looked like a good place to be.
I'm Adam, 32 from West Sussex. Probably haven't sat on a bike for 10 years, let alone ridden one.
Just moved into the countryside, nearest station is a few miles away and decided that maybe I should get a bike in case car isn't working. Then thought why not go whole hog and commit to the bike, for at least the majority.
Still looking for a bike, have posted a thread with my shortlist but the range of components baffles me.

All the different types of bike can be confusing but if you work out what you want it to do the folk on here can point you in the direction of the right bike.

Welcome Adam. Mostly a friendly lot on here, as you've no doubt already found. Loads and loads of knowledge, not just of bikes! Shame you've gone for red, not faster in my experience, but someone has to buy them I suppose!
Where are you? There are a good number of CC'ers scattered about the county.

I'm in Petworth. And the basic tarmac only came in red unfortunately otherwise I agree with you. When I was looking at the Allez Sport I was going to buy black over the red one.

Petworth - posh. You also have the benefit of having some great roads to ride all around. Some of them with hills. Something to look forward to!
