Hi! from Wendover

So I'm 60, fat (16.5st), unfit, hypertensive, type 2 diabetic and back on my bike after a few years break. I ride a Dawes Kalahari round and about the lanes of the Aylesbury Vale. Aiming to lose weight and gain fitness. Happy enough on 15-20 mile rides including some climbs up the side of the Chilterns.

Just wish the winds would go away and the temperature increase :-)

Welcome, I know Wendover well, as I have lived in the Aylesbury Vale for most of my life. It can be a bit hilly round there, a good one up to the monument. Keep at it and the fitness will come as well as the weight being lost.

Current triumph is Downtown Wendover to the top of Halton, managed it for the first time last week, think the monument is a month or two away

It's a bit more complicated than that...
The cafe at the top of Wendover Woods is a great target. There's a filthy short steep bit up to the turn, then once you're in the FC woods you've got a gentler slope with bits of downhill. And a cup of coffee at the top.

Amazing what a bit of sunshine can do - 25 miles today in two shots at an average of ~13mph on my Dawes Kalahari hybrid.
